St Michael's Mount

Another holiday post today. We visited St Michael's Mount on the Monday and not only did we get to have a boat ride across to the island, we also got to explore the gardens

The island is joined to the mainland by a causeway which is revealed at low tide. When the tide is high there are regular fishing boats ferrying people across. We caught ours from the rocks to the left of the picture

I didn't take many photos as we went round the castle bit, I loved this little indoor garden though

Looking down from the top of the walls we could see the gardens were open. I've previously only been to Cornwall during the Summer holidays and the gardens are closed for a lot of the time to prevent them getting damaged by too many people wandering around

You can see the causeway starting to be revealed, some people were already wading across

Time to visit the gardens, I'll let the photos speak for themselves...

I think I took more photos in those gardens than any other place on the holiday. I hope you enjoyed seeing them, just looking at them as I chose which ones to share took me back to that day. Such a wonderful place to visit.

Thank you for visiting with me, I'll have some knitting posts to share with you tomorrow. I'm enjoying working on my rainbow socks again at the moment although Mr Soaring Sheep's sweater has seen a lot of knitting too :-)

    1. Thank you :) I think in the future I'm always going to time my visits so I can wander round the gardens. I'm not too bothered about the house, especially as it's up a steep hill lol

    1. It is, I think it was probably my favourite day of the holiday. I'd visited the island 3 times before without viewing the gardens.

  3. Cool place to explore. The view is priceless. The peekaboo with the causeway is neat. I like nifty succulents.

    1. It's lovely isn't it, how nice to live on your own little island lol. I thought the circular succulents especially were amazing. I can only grow small ones in my garden
