I'm back!!

We had a lovely "honeymoon"/Summer holiday. 11 days camping in Cornwall (it rained every day except 1) and then 5 days camping in my parents' garden on the Isle of Wight. I think it rained most of those days as well. Oh well, it wouldn't be a British Summer if it didn't involve getting wet at some point lol.

As it's a Wednesday I thought I'd share with you my two current WIP's. The first is my Granny stripes blanket. I worked out I needed to do 6 repeats of the 17 colour pattern and my goal for this month was to finish the second repeat. Well I took the blanket on holiday with me and well... take a look!

I'm now onto the fifth pattern repeat! I'm very much enjoying it, the right amount of mindlessness and it works up so quickly. It's getting a bit big to cart around now but it was lovely working on it in the evenings in the tent with it draped over my lap, it's so warm :-)

My other WIP is a lace shawl, the Boo Knits Mystery KAL. As it's a mystery KAL I can't share on photos on here. I was still away when the first clue was released so I'm a little behind at the moment. Luckily the first part of the pattern is very simple and quick to knit up so hopefully I'll catch up soon. For now, here's a quick picture of the yarn and beads I'm using. I can't wait to see the next clue and to be able to show you the finished shawl

Hopefully I'll be organised to do a FO Friday post to show off my wedding shawl and my Framlingham. Actually I might split them over two weeks as the Framlingham needs a quick wash and de-bobbling as it got a lot of use on holiday! See you later in the week!

Our Wedding

It was lovely. We had a simple ceremony at the Register office and then a picnic at the local country park with our families. I've blogged about it here if you want to read and look at pictures :-)

Tonight we're going to finish packing up the car and then we're off on our holidays. What with the Wedding to get ready for and then wanting to chill about a bit yesterday I've not got any posts scheduled for while I'm away so it's going to be a bit quiet here for a while.

When I come back I'll be posting proper photos of my beaded Traveling Woman wedding shawl, Ava's new crocheted shorties and my Framlingham jumper/top. I'm taking my Granny stripe blanket on holiday with me and I'm going to enjoy having a relaxing and much needed holiday with my children and my husband :-)

P.S. Here's a pic of us at the Register office just after being married. The creepy looking guy on the right is one of my brothers

WIP Tuesday!

I'm writing this post a day early because I'm not going to have time tomorrow, what with getting married and everything ;-) I will do a wedding photos post at some point, I definitely want to show off my wedding shawl and talk about the wonderful day we're hopefully going to have!

I'm back down to two WIP's at the moment, one knitting and one crochet. My knitting one is my Framlingham and it's sooo close to being finished. In fact I did finish it, tried it on and decided I wanted a bit more length. Mr Soaring Sheep reminded me that I had a ball of yarn remaining so I frogged back the garter stitch hem, picked up the stitches and carried on knitting. I'm hoping to get it finished by the end of the week so I can wear it on holiday. Yeah, so much for it being my holiday knitting, it's such a lovely pattern I couldn't wait!

The top safety pin was about an inch from the frogged edge and I've left it there so I can see how much extra length I've added. The bottom pin is marking which row I'm on in the pattern repeat. I like safety pins for marking stitches, I don't know why!

My crochet project is my granny stripe blanket. My eldest boy has decided that the finished blanket will be his so whenever he sees me working on it he starts nagging me to work faster. Bossy child, can't think where he gets that from!

I've got to do 6 pattern repeats for it to be long enough and I've done 1.3 so far. I've not worked on it much recently as I've been trying to get my Framlingham done. I also crocheted a soaker for Ava to wear at the wedding using some stash yarn so I'll post some photos of that at some point too :-)

The colours of the yarns are so happy, I probably wouldn't have chosen all of them but I really like how they work together. Especially the first few from the red to the purple they just zing for me :-)

Well tomorrow is going to be busy for us. The wedding is in the morning and then we're going to have a picnic providing it's not raining. Fingers crossed for good weather and a lovely day :-)

Well that's going to look great in the wedding photos!

Feeble FO Friday

I'm super busy at the moment and stressed out with organising things for the wedding next week. Despite it being a simple and low-key plan there is still quite a lot to do, and then we've got almost 3 weeks away camping after that so I'm up to my eyeballs at the moment!

So without more ado, here is a photo of my finished Neverland Wendy without a hood. I will do some proper shots later!

I'll try to schedule some posts for while I'm away. I've got my wedding shawl to show off next week and a pair of crocheted shorties that I made this week for Ava. I'm still working away on my Framlingham and my granny stripe blanket.

Today has been a busy one, we were out all morning, came home for lunch and then went back out to music group. We've just got back and it's lovely and warm outside so I'm going to sit in the garden for a bit with a cold drink of water and my crochet while the children play :-)
